A day of special tours of the exhibition PARASIMPATICO by PIPILOTTI RIST
Cinema Manzoni, Milan
3 December 2011

On Saturday, December 3, 2011, the Fondazione Nicola Trussardi is presenting Luce per i tuoi occhi, a day-long program, conceived by Unduetrestella, of special tours for the very young of the exhibition Parasimpatico.

Children five and up will get the chance to discover the magical world of Pipilotti Rist through visits and activities designed especially for them. Each child will be given a flashlight, the better to explore the various spaces of the old movie theater. Moving in small groups, guided by the staff, the young visitors will investigate every corner of the show. Like in a very special treasure hunt, the children will have to keep their eyes peeled to discover as many objects as they can hidden within the works of this Swiss artist: objects that have often been taken out of their normal context, and presented in a witty, original way. The flashlights will become a symbolic device for interacting with the world of Pipilotti Rist, as both a plaything and a learning tool.

The children will thus be transformed into little “critics”, invited to observe even the tiniest details of the works on exhibit. Face-to-face with the magical world of Pipilotti Rist—the Pippi Longstocking of contemporary art—made up of underwear chandeliers, giant soap bubbles, multicolored lights, flower-covered meadows and curious animals—the children will be encouraged to talk about what they see, to express their thoughts, and to come up with the stories behind the objects and the characters they encounter. At the end of this journey of discovery, the young visitors will write or draw pictures about what they have seen, interpreting the show according to their own insights, experience and imagination.

Luce per i tuoi occhi is a one-day event conceived by Unduetrestella and organized by the Fondazione Nicola Trussardi for the exhibition Parasimpatico.
Unduetrestella is a curatorial project focused on bringing contemporary art to children; founded in 2009, it works in partnership with cultural institutions such as Museo del Novecento in Milan.
